The shake flashlight uses a magneto based on Faraday's Law of
Induction. English physicist Michael Faraday discovered when you change the magnetic environment of a coil it will "induce"
voltage in that coil. This is produced by you shaking the light horizontally for 20-30 seconds and this in turn charges the
magneto which powers the light for 30 minutes! Add the efficiency of an LED to the light and you've got a bulb that
lasts 50 times longer than the standard flashlight bulb! It is even made stronger by a magnification lens. The entire light
is housed in a tough resin plastic which lets it withstand shock much better than a normal flashlight. A rubber o-ring keeps
moisture out and makes it water-resistant. What a combination for a flashlight! One warning: this light has a strong magnet
which could affect the strip on a credit card or cause a TV screen to appear discolored until you move it away. So keep the
magnet away from VHS or cassette tapes or anything which a magnet might affect. A very small price to pay for never needing
batteries! This light measures slightly over 7" long, is the diameter of a "C" battery, and has a hole at the end for hanging.
These come in clear, clear green, and clear blue so you can see the inner mechanism.
